EPA Action Allows Companies to Withhold Information on Toxic Chemicals

For the first time ever, the Environmental Protection Agency finalized two rollbacks to the nation’s premier toxic pollution disclosure program, the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI). The changes announced today enable facilities to withhold currently reported information about toxic chemicals and restricts public access to information about toxic pollution.

New Report Documents Dangerous Chemicals in Baby Products

Toxic chemicals can be found in common baby products, according to a new report released today by Texas Public Interest Research Group (TexPIRG). “The Right Start: The Need to Eliminate Toxic Chemicals from Baby Products,” documents toxic chemicals, including phthalates and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), in teethers, bath books, and sleep accessories.
